| This
page contains gossip and rumours about artists and bands.
They are not verified, although some are commonly
accepted as truth. If you have any comments or more information about any of these rumours, please submit it and it can be posted here. |
Rumour #1:
Some people say that the lead singer in La Cream was actually not Tess Mattisson, but actually Nana, the lead singer of E-Type. This was done without any credit or mention.
This is believable because the vocals in La Cream sound lower and stronger than those in Tess' solo album.
Rumour #2:
The studio singer of E-Rotic continued to be Lyane Leigh even after Jeannette replaced her as the lead singer. This continued until the "Missing You" album. Lyane was forced to record for the project because of something in her contract, even after she separated from the band because of differences with David Brandes about live performances and music videos.
Further, it has been said that Jeannette never sang at all for E-Rotic in the studio - another person, possibly Lydia, the current vocalist, took over for Lyane from "Missing You" onward.
The first part of the rumour seems to be verified and accepted. However, the second might be open for debate.
Rumour #3:
A member of Ace of Base, Uffe Ekberg, supposedly is a reformed member of the Nazi party. Their hit "Happy Nation" seems to talk about Hitler and his ideas, if you listen carefully to the lyrics. The band announced that Happy Nation was meant as a criticism of those horrible ideals.
It does talk about "Dreaming of the Perfect Man" and "A man will die, but not his ideas" but also ends with "Tell them we've gone too far." What do you think?
Rumour #4:
Ann Lee, or Annerley (Annerly) Gordon, has been the behind-the-scenes vocalist for dozens of songs and projects coming out Italy. Perhaps even Whigfield.
She has been credited for writing songs for many groups, including Corona (The Rhythm of the Night!) and Whigfield. Look in credits for A. Gordon.
