Me&My
ME & MY / DUB-I-DUB, February 09, 2001
(IGN -
DDR Song of the Day)
Dance Dance Revolution Song of the Day: No, we don't know exactly what it means, but for some reason the word "Dub" won't leave our heads...
Konami's Line: Dub I Dub first appeared in the Dance Dance Revolution 2nd Mix arcade and the Japanese PlayStation release of Dance Dance Revolution 2nd Remix. Me & My is a group consisting of two sisters, Pernville and Susanne Georgi, always dressed in costumes. Originating from Denmark, they started their career back in 1995. Dub I Dub is their debut song, which made No. 1 ranking in Denmark and was a big hit all over Europe. Although the name Me & My is not instantly recognizable, their 1996 debut album sold over 1,500,000 copies, indicating that they are very talented as well as attractive...
The song itself is very danceable and totally Euro beat style. Me & My have such soothing voices and the lyrics and chorus in this song compliment the music so well...
Dub I Dub will always be remembered as one of the inextricable links in the 2nd Mix Nonstop Megamix Five-Pack of Hideous Pop Death, the continuously mixed assault between tracks 3 and 7 that includes Butterfly, Boys, Hero, Dub I Dub, and Smoke, with no commercial interruptions. It's easily the best stretch of the album -- after Smoke ends, there's the briefly soothing interlude with AM-3p, then a whole lot of rancid easy-listening garbage, then the mighty power of Strictly Business (whose omission from the American version, incidentally, is criminal), then more dead air, then you get to the cool closing section with Boom Boom Dollar, If You Were Here, and Brilliant2U. The end of Brilliant2U is the signal to wail on the "stop" button like a maniac, because all that waits after that is Little Bitch.
But we were talking about Dub I Dub, weren't we? This is another tune that helps fill the void left by Butterfly, its repetitive lyrics and hypnotic beat working to enclose the mind in its iron grip of terrible pain. Its chorus, naturally, does not mean anything in particular, but it loops around your cerebellum like a herpes virus and never leaves, like any platinum-selling pop hit.
Let the Love Go On
Fun Dance-pop band from Denmark, September 18, 2000

Wow, did they change from their first album... Sisters Suzane and Pernille Georgi from Denmark, have gone from cute Euro-dance Bunnies to serious pop and a bit RnB I'd say Divas. Not that the cuteness or endless Me&My humour isn't there. The album is great, and a bit less upbeat from their debut, so it takes a bit more to get used to it, but it is a very well done pop album. The CD if you notice is full of little stories, for example the honest and funny "So Many Men" mentions how there are too many men to choose from (I guess fame has it's price huh?), but it's the most melodic songs in this CD that are winning, how can you resist the sweet "Loving You", or how can you not feel sad on "That's the Way Life Is" or "You Left Me"(this songs is a contradiction, it has very nice dance beat, and painfull lyrics, kinda like the way some Pet Shop Boys songs are). Looks like they have matured quite a bit from their first album. I also enjoy the spanish quitar that bleeps from here and there in their songs in this album. Nice touch, and well worth buying if you like bands such as Whigfield, Berri, Alexia, Amber , Spice Girls or Gina G.
Fly High
Great
Pop/Trance/Techno album from Denmark, August 19, 2002

A third album from 2 beautiful Danish girls. The main genre of this album is Dance. Album is filled with Beautiful music with catchy melodies. Track 11 (Crazy) is the only true ballad. It is very slow, with beautiful melodie and vocals.
Track 1 "Fly High" is done in Vocal Trance/Pop style. Its beauty truly makes you "fly high" when you are listening to it. Fans of FRAGMA and IAN VAN DAHL will immediately fall in love with this song.
Fans of ATC will go crazy for Track 2 (La La Superstar). Very similar to ATC's "Around The World"
"Sleeping My Day Away" combines Techno/Pop with Rock Music. If you liked BRITNEY SPEARS'S "Oops I Did It Again", you will enjoy this catchy number.
"If I was your Lover" has the Latin/Salsa sound to it. Similar to AQUA'S "In the Heat of the Night". Fans of JENNIFER LOPEZ should also enjoy this one.
"Can't Forget the Past" is a beautiful and nostalgic song with great Eurobeat to it.
There is not a single bad song on this album. The rest of the tracks follow the same great formula of combining great distinct melodies and vocals with great Eurobeat. Similar to what ACE OF BASE did.
This is simply an AMAZING dance/pop album. Get this album wherever you can. It will ASTOUND you. Also make sure to check out 2 other Me&My albums. They are all GREAT.

FANTASTIC! A MUST FOR ALL DANCE MUSIC FANS!!!!, May 6, 2001

This album is absolutely fantastic!!! I have been a fan of this danish band since their first album and I must say this 3rd effort is their best to date. Right away from the first song, you can tell that the girls (Susanne and Pernille) have put their vocal ranges to the max and the fun is apparent throughout the CD. They go from Trance tunes (like "Fly High"), to latin flavored rhythms (like the upbeat "If I Was Your Lover"), to Eurodance ("No Way" and "Can't Forget The Past"), to slower Techno gems (such as the magnifficent technoballad "Crazy", which every fan of Madonna's new work would surely like). This album is full of dance energy and I recommend you buy it with no hesitation. The additional bonus remixes are also quite good, but even without those the album still stands solid. Lets hope the girls will meet the success they deserve with this album and hope for a worldwide release of it (I am sure if released in the US it'd be a huge hit). Highly recommended for fans of ATB, Alice Deejay, Darude, or Sash.
Great 3rd
album by Danish duo Me & My!!!...., May 1, 2001

Me & My are back with their 3rd album release. They are sisters Susanne and Pernille Georgi. Me & My seem to be going back to their roots and doing what they do best, dance music. This album has many great euro and euro trance jams. Some of the gems on this album includes Fly High, hence the title, Sleeping My Day Away, which is a cover of a hard rock song by Danish group D.A.D., La La Superstar, No Way and Secret Garden are just a few more of the many great songs from this incredibly delicious europop cd. I was happy to see Me & My doing dance music again, I really enjoyed their last album, Let The Love Go On, which consisted of many pop tunes, but I was happy to see these talented girls doing dance music again and showing who REALLY wears the pants in the realm of europop. If you are a fan of the likes of Alice Deejay, ATC, or if you miss the days of good ole Euro, then you should check out Me & My. This cd should not be missed by Eurodance and pop music enthusiasts. For those of you into the likes of Danish acts like Aqua or Daze, you should check out Me & My's debut self titled album which is chock full of Danish dancepop hits.
